James Gunn's DCU has just begun with 2 episodes of Creature Commandos, which premiered on HBO Max on 5 December. Creature Commandos is an animated TV series that is, according to Gunn, in a preview of what the DCU will be, violent and sexual. Taking a page from 'The Boys' on this one, Gunn understands that what people want, today's kids are not 2000s kids who see a flying man in underwear as their hero; Gen Z wants something extra and not PG-13 superhero movies. This change came because of mobile phones and the internet; kids nowadays get exposed to content at an early age and develop their minds according to it. James Gunn is just adapting. In a recent interview he said that he wants to be with the Creature Commandos that DCU isn't afraid to show nudity or sex in their movies and shows, that they can be extremely family friendly and violent if needed.
