Some interesting details about One Hundred Years of Solitude on Netflix
Netflix has released the full trailer for their upcoming TV series 'One Hundred Years of Solitude,' which is based on the landmark novel by Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez, first published in 1967.
Netflix adapting this is making me worry because this is not something that Netflix can handle; it is much more of an HBO-type novel because the novel contains politics, colonialism, mystery, magical elements, and incest.
Incest is everywhere in this, and the novel descriptions of the characters sexual lives are very explicit, and looking at Netflix's recent releases, I think they will somehow fuck this up with their downgrading of female nudity policy.

Plot: In the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion, and the inescapability of their past and their fate.
- The Buendía family is founded by José Arcadio Buendía and Úrsula Iguarán, who establish Macondo. The novel follows their descendants, many of whom are named José Arcadio or Aureliano, reflecting their intertwined fates.
- The family experiences moments of prosperity, followed by inevitable decline, marked by war, forbidden love, and tragedy.
- The narrative ends with the last Buendía deciphering ancient prophecies about the family's destiny, which foretell their complete extinction.
The TV series was first announced by Netflix back in 2019, and it got delayed again and again, but now finally it's coming out. Netflix had all the time they needed, so this has to be good.
The novel is very heavy on incest; it has an aunt-nephew relationship, a stepbrother-stepsister relationship, and a first cousin relationship.
Incest will be on the front in this series just like in Game of Thrones, and I just hope Netflix doesn't shy away from anything this novel offers and i also have to say that the Trailer does look promising.
