Emilia Clarke's new espionage thriller with Haley Lu Richardson might be a lesbian erotica

In the new tv news this week, Mother of Dragons, 'Emilia Clarke, has been cast in an espionage thriller, 'PONIES,' and her opposite is Haley Lu Richardson (from The White Lotus Season 2).

Emilia Clarke has had a hard time getting her footing after Game of Thrones ended; she did get the lead role in the Disney Plus series 'Secret Invasion,' but it ended up getting negative press, and she gained nothing from it. Perhaps smaller roles are what she needs right now to relaunch her career outside these big franchises.

The series Set in Moscow in 1977, it follows two PONIES (“persons of no interest” in intelligence speak) who work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy. That is until their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, and the pair become CIA operatives. Bea (Clarke) is an over-educated, Russian-speaking child of Soviet immigrants. Alongside her cohort, Twila, they work to uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery that made them widows in the first place.

You can take a hint at where this is going; two women recently widowed join forces as spies. Yup! I smell some romance.

The series main focus is on espionage thrillers, so romance will be a side plot, but it is enough for me to get invested in this series.

The series is currently in its early development, and Clarke is also a producer in this, so she can play the character however she wants and can also make changes.

It will be exciting to see how the series will look.
