A sequel to Devil Wears Prada is being developed
Although no agreements have been reached, there has been much discussion about a sequel to the 2006 coming-of-age comedy, which saw Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Anne Hathway reunite on stage at the SAG Awards.
The cast has not signed any deals. Disney, the production company that would produce the movie after acquiring Fox 2000's original Devil studio, declined to comment.
Based on the same-titled book, the 2006 movie follows recent college journalism graduate Andy (Hathaway) as she accepts one of the most sought-after positions in publishing: assistant to stand-in Miranda Priestly (Streep), Anna Wintour. Andy is introduced to the world of high fashion and publications by her colleague assistant, Blunt.
Streep received an Oscar nomination for the movie, which brought in an incredible $326 million at the global box office.
When the sequel was initially announced, Puck provided details on a potential storyline in which Priestly remains at the head of Runway but the publication has suffered from the financial difficulties of modern publishing and is now in a weakened state. The former assistant to Blunt would now work as an executive for a conglomerate of luxury brands that Runway promotes for.

Hathaway expressed skepticism over the prospect of a sequel to her film The Idea of You, remarking to E! during its promotional tour, "I don't think a continuation of that story is probably ever gonna happen."
